Krunchie with Yachts

Proinnsias - Krunchie As

"Proinnsias" sounds the same as "Krunchie as," except with a P instead of a K. Christened "Francis Killeen," he adopted the Irish form of this name "Proinnsias Ó Cillín." ("Cillín," which means "treasure," sounds exactly the same as "Killeen"). Some people have difficulty pronouncing "Proinnsias," and some children called him "Krunchie," a nickname that stuck.

Regulation of Bingo

The Regulation of Bingo is another symptom of government insanity, the insane drive to control every aspect of human life. This contrasts with the original, rational, purpose of government, which was to enable people to live normal, happy lives, as they please.

Should Bingo be controlled in order to provide some share of the proceeds for charity? This question overlooks the reality that Bingo is itself a Charity. Bingo Halls are more beneficial than Day Care Centres. They allow mainly elderly people, and mainly women, of their own free will, an evening of enjoyment and socialisation. It gets them out of their lonely shacks, gives them hours of fun, keeps them from depression, and enables them to manage their own lives, without carers or pharmaceuticals, and keeps them longer out of nursing homes.

We should, perhaps, consider, if, in some communities, subsidised Bingo Halls can be opened.

Perhaps Mrs Veradker does not play Bingo. That would be her choice. Exercising our choice to do simple pleasurable things is fundamental to human happiness. I take a pint in my local pub; you play Bingo in the Bingo-hall; pious Peter attends devotions in the Church.

We have suppressed thousands of lonely rural men by regulating the two-pint man out of existence. Now we will set about deregulating the Bingo Woman and forcing her into nursing homes. Soon, no doubt, we will see what we can do to stop the free-travelling pensioner from taking train rides!

In another post, I set out a scheme by which the original free house-let, i.e., the agreement between a willing landlord and a willing tenant, can be restored, with the new electronic key.
